Director, Laboratory Production

Position Overview

The Director of Laboratory Production is responsible for the overall performance of Booshoot’s Pro Vitro production process. This position is vital to the successful execution of deadlines and meeting key performance targets. The Director of Lab Production will be a member of the management team and will be involved in all high-level discussions and planning relating to production processes.

 
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include scheduling, quality control, inventory management, forecasting, unit cost analysis, training and oversight of lab technicians. There is a strong preference for applicants who have a track record of quickly grasping, quantifying and rapidly improving production processes in a production environment using Six Sigma or similar processes.
 
Education and Experience
5+ years’ experience in a management position and a post-graduate degree in plant sciences is required for this position. Candidates must be able to hit the ground running in a dynamic environment.

Senior Accountant

Position Overview

The Sr. Accountant is an individual contributor responsible for essentially all of the financial and accounting functions at Booshoot, including a/p, a/r, payroll, journal entries and reconciliations, as well as preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.  The Sr. Accountant is a key member of the management team and will work closely with managers throughout the company to help understand their budget and forecast variances.  The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and enter accounts payables and accounts receivables
• Review and process bi-weekly payroll
• Conduct month-end closing of the general ledger including preparation and posting of appropriate journal entries for inventory, depreciation, reserves, accruals, and provisions
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned
• Assist the CFO and/or COO with preparation and presentation of forecasts and annual budgets
• Assist with the gathering and preparation of information and supporting schedules for various financial and regulatory audits, payroll, state and local tax returns
• Maintain employee files and HR filing system
• Facilitate new hire protocols including completion of eVerify process
• Provide assistance to department managers in understanding their budget and forecast variances for operating expenses
• Other duties as necessary

Proficiencies

• Understanding and application of U.S. GAAP
• Strong experience with Quick Books (Quick Books Enterprise preferred), proficiency with Excel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone
• Ability to function effectively with little outside direction; operate well in an environment of change
• Flexibility and sense of humor
• Good personal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Possess a work ethic that includes neatness and punctuality

Education and Experience

• 2-year degree in accounting required; 4-year degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years work experience in accounting, including bookkeeping experience
• Strong Quick Books experience & skills highly desired
• Experience with manufacturing and/or inventory processes & procedures

Lab Technician

Position Overview

Booshoot is seeking employees to cut and process plants in a sterile lab environment. Candidates should be familiar with plant tissue culture, demonstrate great attention to detail, and have the ability to work well within a motivated laboratory production team.  Candidate will be familiar with sterile laboratory techniques, and will produce high quality plants in an efficient manner.  Currently seeking candidates for full time day shift positions.

Duties include: 

• Propagating plant material in a commercial laboratory setting. 
• Meeting or exceeding weekly cutting assignments. 
• Following the most sterile laboratory practices. 
• Producing high quality plants in an efficient manner. 
• Communicating with team members about best practices. 

Qualifications: 

• Ability to communicate in spoken and written English. 
• Experience in the horticulture industry preferred. 
• Strong attention to detail. 
• Strong problem solving skills. 
• Flexible schedule/ability to work evenings a plus.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Willingness to support a high-quality laboratory environment and ability to function both independently and as a respectful team member. 
• Must be able to meet minimum physical requirements for extended periods of sitting and concentration.

Seasonal Greenhouse Production Laborer

Position Overview

Booshoot seeks employees to plant and process plants in a greenhouse setting. Candidates will demonstrate extreme care with plants, show attention to detail, and have the ability to work well in a production team. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs and work in an outdoor environment.

Duties include: 

• Planting seedlings with care
• Dividing and replanting plants with care and efficiency
• Meeting or exceeding production goals
• Communication with team members

• Experience in the horticulture industry preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
